As AI evolution fundamentally transforms how we search for information, a new wave of “Agentic AI” is emerging that goes beyond simple question-and-answer systems. What kind of transformation will these Agentic AI bring to the business world?
What are Agentic AI?
Until now, AI has generally been used to passively provide information in response to user questions. However, Agentic AI go one step further. They deeply understand the user's intentions and predict the actions that will be needed next. They actively search for and collect the necessary information and even execute the optimal proposal.
For example, suppose you tell the AI that you are planning a trip to California. The AI will then automatically provide suggestions for:
• Flight information,
• Accommodation options,
• Local weather,
• Tourist attractions.
This is a groundbreaking feature that simplifies our thought processes and makes selection and execution easier, as if we had a personal secretary.
The forefront of AI utilization in business
The emergence of Agentic AI is having an immeasurable impact on the business world. By having AI take over routine tasks that previously required significant time and effort, humans can now focus on more essential tasks.
We can now concentrate on areas that require human strengths, such as communication and relationship building. This allows us to spend more time on tasks that are difficult for AI to replicate, such as customer interactions and strengthening team collaboration. Such AI utilization is beginning to lead to the creation of new value.
The “shadow” cast by Agentic AI: Ethical and social issues
On the other hand, behind the convenience of Agentic Ai lie ethical and social issues that cannot be ignored.
• Information bias: The possibility that biases contained in the data learned by AI may influence its recommendations.
• Ambiguity of responsibility: The question of who is responsible when AI acts on incorrect information or causes problems.
• Impact on employment: As AI-driven automation advances, certain job types may become obsolete, leading to changes in the structure of employment.
In fact, there have been reports of cases where AI was used for job interviews, resulting in nearly all candidates being white. This was due to biases present in the historical data, but from an ethical perspective, it could pose a significant issue. Furthermore, it is challenging for AI to fully assess the intuitive discomfort or intuition that humans naturally feel. Cultural backgrounds further complicate this judgment. It is clear that simply saying “AI made a mistake” is not sufficient, and how to address these ethical issues and questions of responsibility will be a major challenge in the future.
The necessity of humanity
AI is not an entity that will take everything away from us. Rather, we need to utilize AI as a “partner.” This is because we possess unique value in the form of “humanity,” which AI cannot replicate.

The ability to read emotions from facial expressions and tone of voice, communicate appropriately in a given situation, judge right from wrong, and act based on social norms. The ability to generate innovative ideas that are not found in data and create new value from scratch is still a growth challenge for AI. The time that was previously spent on numerous tasks has been freed up by AI, allowing us to invest in our own value.
With the advent of Agentic AI, we can now focus on building relationships and leveraging our unique creative abilities, which are the most important aspects of our work. AI is not just a tool but a “partner” that thinks and acts on its own, deeply integrated into our work and lives.
This collaboration will achieve productivity and creativity unprecedented in the economy. We will be freed from tedious tasks and able to focus on more human-centric work. Embracing AI's evolution and working alongside it to build a more creative and prosperous society requires the skills and resolve that will be essential in the coming era.
